ETNA Summit Craters

The route of Etna Summit Craters is suitable for those who have a strong desire to walk. The trail, rich in volcanic features, initially involves transport by our 4×4 vehicles up to an altitude of 2930 meters. From this point, a 4 km ascent on foot begins along a path surrounded by volcanic bombs and scoria, with a total elevation gain of 370 meters up to the edge of the Central Crater of Mount Etna, at an altitude of 3300 meters. The descent will be made on soft volcanic scoria and ash until reaching our 4×4 vehicles, which will take us back to Piano Provenzana, the endpoint of our excursion. The excursion entails a total of 4 kilometers of walking (round trip) for 3.5 hours, perfectly suitable for those accustomed to regular mountain hiking.
